Henrik Lundqvist said on MSG, "we all needed it. We wanted to win at home in front of our fans. You build a lot of confidence when you win at home and you want this to be a place of winning and playing well. We needed 60 minutes where we played a solid hockey game and we did tonight. They were missing a lot of top guys and we knew we had a chance at winning if we played the right way and the right way isn't always about taking chances but about making reads and I think we did a great job of that."
On the second intermission, "determination, we wanted to win this badly and it was important to remind ourselves that we were not in a position where we had to take chances. We were good enough to create chances and still play a smart, solid hockey game and in the end it paid off. We didn't stretch ourselves or go for the home run pass all the time, we created chances and had a good defensive game."
On being scored on "every time you give up a goal it's disappointment but I felt that I was tracking the puck well but I felt the same way the last game, It's tough after the last one to give up six goals but also know that you felt pretty sharp with the puck. It was another weird game. We came back today and we were focused and I needed this and the team needed this to build on."
On Rick Nash, "the way he scores right now, the way he works up there, the determination. We need it badly and he is our top player and he is playing unbelievable right now. It's a big goal for us and a big point."
