During the second period last night, Tanner Glass was seen doing a chicken dance on the Rangers bench in the direction of Cal Clutterbuck.
Following the game, Clutterbuck said that Glass making the gesture in his direction and not in the direction of Islanders forward Matt Martin "should tell you everything you need to know about it." (NY Post)
On Friday, Glass responded to Clutterbuck and said that if Clutterbuck thinks he is afraid of Matt Martin he should check out "hockeyfights.com and he'll find out I'm not." (Ranger Rants)
Glass said that he was calling Clutterbuck out and that Clutterbuck is the "toughest guy ever" when going up against Derick Brassard and Mats Zuccarello but when he comes around Clutterbuck is a "mute." (Ranger Rants)
He continued that Clutterbuck's actions are "chicken" and that "wants to be physical player, a gritty player, then he's just silent when someone that actually might do something comes around? That's not how the game should be." (Ranger Rants)
In summation Glass said that the point of it was to call Clutterbuck out and show everyone that "he's a phony." (Ranger Rants)
"It's an energy building but I can't say I'm doing it because it's the Islanders," Glass said. "The point is to call him out. A gesture is a little easier to see. Everyone should know he's a phony." (Ranger Rants)
