Asked why Tanner Glass was called up for today's game against the Islanders, Alain Vigneault said that Glass was playing well in Hartford and would be a "good fit" for the game.
He said that while he didn't think things would get "out of control tonight", Glass is a physical player who can help against a physical team like the Islanders.
Vigneault added, "with the way Glasser was playing we thought it was the right thing to do."
In terms of Glass staying with the team for the Rangers road trip to Western Canada next week, Vigneault said that the Rangers would make roster determinations like that on Friday after their back to back set against the Isles and the Avs.
Glass has played in two games this season for the Rangers, has 11 hits, 2 shots on goal, a plus one rating and 4 PIM in 11:29 per game.
In the AHL, Glass has two goals, 3 assists, 23 PIM and a minus 11 rating.
