Not this season. The Giants experienced their first losing season in a decade in 2013 and are in facelift mode, signing younger players and filling holes left by departing, aging veterans.
The Jets have been relatively quiet this month, signing WR Eric Decker and passing on Darrelle Revis allowing him to be snatched up by the hated Patriots.

Which running back will rush for more yards this season -- Chris Ivory of the Jets or David Wilson of the Giants?
Ivory was acquired by the Jets from New Orleans in April for a fourth-round pick and signed to a 3-year deal. He has never played a full season and only appeared in six games in each of the past two years. He just began practicing for the Jets this week after battling a hamstring strain, which is not uncommon as he has a history of injury.

Way too early for this argument, but still, winning the division does get you into the playoffs. The Giants have won two Super Bowls since Tom Coughlin took the reins in 2004, but they've only won the division three times. In two of those seasons, they lost in the first round of the playoffs - at home, no less.
Of course they will receive that team's first round draft pick in next month's NFL Draft. With that pick, they can get themselves a much-needed LB, OL, CB or even another receiver. If Cruz receives no offers, he will stay with the Giants for at least another year. The best case scenario, however, is getting Cruz' signature on a long-term deal.
The Giants have a healthy Hakeem Nicks returning, along with Rueben Randle and recently-signed speedster Louis Murphy. Keeping Cruz in the fold would make that an even more imposing unit.

"The past two years, the play in this game has been unacceptable," Peyton Manning said. "If it was a walkthrough, your coach would say it was a bad walkthrough. And that's why (the league) could try to cancel this game."
Speaking of brothers.....The Harbaugh Bowl is not off to a great start from a fan-interest perspective. First off the brothers are among the least-liked coaches around the league. Jim has been cagey with the media and John is a low key guy. Both are passionate, intelligent and not going anywhere for a long time. Their players and fans love them, the rest of the league not so much (I chalk that up to jealousy)....too bad because this is a historic event.
Notre Dame LB Manti Te'o has gone from Heisman Trophy runner-up and a lead-pipe cinch top five NFL prospect to a silly, immature kid who needs to either grow up or just come clean and show that he is serious about playing pro football.
The fake girlfriend hoax raises doubts to whether Te'o is ready for the next level. He is certainly a productive player who appears to be ready to handle the physical demands of NFL life, but this charade may keep teams from taking him in the early part of the first round in April's draft, where Te'o is projected to be selected. Can he handle the emotional and psychological part of being a pro?
