Katie Lou Samuelson is expected to return to 2-seed UConn for its NCAA tournament opener on Friday against 15-seed Towson, head coach Geno Auriemma told SNY.tv's Justine Ward.
Samuelson, who has averaged 18.0 points and 6.7 rebounds this season, has missed the Huskies' last four games, including the entire American Athletic Conference tournament, due to a back injury.
She last played March 2 vs. Houston, when she scored 11 points in 17:48 of playing time.
UConn went 4-0 in Samuelson's absence, winning all three AAC tournament games by an average of 28 points.
Should UConn win, it would play the winner of 7-seed Rutgers and 10-seed Buffalo on Sunday at Gampel Pavilion.
