University of Albany
The team had trained there for 15 summers until last year, when the NFL Lockout forced them to hold camp at their year-round facility in the Meadowlands.
From the Albany Times-Union:
Logistically, it made no sense. There is too much housekeeping to do down here. Uprooting an entire organization 150 miles north at the drop of a hat was just too tall a task. Especially if your organization is, well, disorganized.

As you all probably know by now, former Giant QB Kerry Collins announced his retirement from the NFL yesterday after 16 seasons. From our colleague over at Ultimate NYG, Andy Furman:
"What would you say if we told you that Kerry Collins threw for more yards than all but 10 QBs in NFL History? Yes, Kerry Collins is #11 All Time in yards passing. Under the radar? Kerry Collins wet the bed enough times that we won't ever call him "great." But he was more than good enough at more than a few times in his career to go all the way. History may not want to remember him fondly, but Collins fought valiantly for his teams and has over 40,000 reasons why he gets our respect for a terrific career..."
The first - and biggest - casualties of the lockout could be the training camp towns and the residual businesses that rely on the throngs who come each summer to get a first glimpse of their teams.
For the Giants, that town is Albany. With July descending upon us, and a deal is still three weeks away at the minimum, it appears less likely that the Giants will be making their annual trip up the Thruway for training camp.
Keith Bulluck was not out on the field for the test. He will practice this afternoon...
Ahmad Bradshaw was also not on the field this morning...no word on whether he will go later, or just watch...again...
....did not see new millionaire JPP, either....
The Giants open their training camp in just 12 days.
If you are planning on attending any of the sessions, you can find the complete schedule on the left sidebar of this website. The protocol, parking information and directions to the complex are below.
From the U of Albany website......
The Giants have trained on the UAlbany campus, just 2 1/2 hours north of the New Meadowlands Stadium, since 1996. In the 14 years that the Giants have trained at UAlbany, the preseason camp has averaged more than 33,000 fans per summer. The camp attendance mark of 46,960 was established last year, the fourth time figures have surpassed 40,000-plus. One of the fields used is now known as Mara-Tisch Field, and was dedicated on Aug. 16, 2007 in honor of the team's former owners Wellington Mara and Robert Tisch.
In 2010, the Giants begin workouts on Sunday, August 1 with a single afternoon practice at 3:15 p.m. The three-week camp concludes on August 20. Giants training camp will feature five evening practices. The first night practice is slated for Thursday, Aug. 5, at 6:05 p.m. All five sessions are preceded by a morning workout at 8:35 a.m. The other day-night workouts are scheduled for August 7, 9, 11 and 13. The entire training camp schedule can be accessed through www.giants.com or www.ualbanysports.com.
First Practice is August 1stThe suspense is over.? The Giants and the University of Albany officially announced the team's plans to resume their summer training camp in the state capital.
The first workout is scheduled for Sunday, August 1st and the Giants will practice sixteen days at the University of Albany campus before breaking camp on Friday, August 20th.
The agreement between the Giants and the university is for this year with two option years, which will leave the door open for the Giants to find an alternative should they wish to do so.
It's still only May, but upstate NY gets crowded during that time of year, with Saratoga being open and all.? People want to get their reservations in order for the summer.
