President Donald Trump reportedly reached out to former Yankee Alex Rodriguez in his continued outreach across the country regarding the coronavirus pandemic.
Per John Santucci of ABC News, Trump called Rodriguez from the Oval Office earlier this week.
Santucci noted that Rodriguez's call with the President was "pleasant," and that Trump, while asking the former Yankees slugger about the coronavirus response, did not discuss having A-Rod or his fiance, Jennifer Lopez, take on any official effort.
Rodriguez joined in on MLB's #OpeningDayAtHome initiative, tweeting out a picture of himself and his two daughters from their home on what was supposed to be Opening Day across baseball.
"I miss my ESPN teammates and watching the game I love but right now I am lucky I get to spend some extra time with my girls," Rodriguez said in a follow-up tweet.
"Hopefully, baseball and everything else will be back to normal soon. In the meantime, continue to be #SafeAtHome and love one another!"
