The Yankees have checked back in with the Baltimore Orioles regarding third baseman Manny Machado, according to FanRag Sports' Jon Heyman.
The Orioles, according to Heyman, have not yet been tempted to trade Machado despite several teams, including the Yankees, Red Sox, White Sox and Cubs, being linked to the three-time All-Star.
New York has reportedly been interested in trading for Machado since last month, and a trade would likely cost the Yankees a significant amount of top prospects.
Machado, 25, hit .259 with 33 home runs and 95 RBIs last season, and in his six-year career, he has a lifetime .279/.329/.476 batting line with 138 home runs and 406 RBIs.
Machado is arbitration eligible this offseason and is expected to earn approximately $17 million in 2018. He will be a free agent next offseason.
The Yankees traded third baseman Chase Headley earlier in the offseason to the San Diego Padres.
